This device made by the Water Pik Co. is an easy to use, effective aid for those
peoples who find hand flossing difficult and time consuming. It is a battery-operated
unit (handle) into a nylon-flossing tip is attached. Pressing the power button causes
the nylon tip to vibrate which effectively cleans in between the teeth and below
the crest of the gums. The nylon tip is highly polished and flexible, and cleans
effectively without harming the gum tissue when properly used. The tip of the unit
is angled so as to make it easier to get to those difficult places in the mouth
where hand flossing can be a real chore.
HLD recommends this aid especially for people with a lot of crown + bridge units
in their mouth, for people whose dexterity is not sufficient to make hand flossing
convenient, and for people who because of periodontal problems or surgery must floss
numerous times in a day.
